Ushimado Olive Garden
It is located on the east side of Shunka. The olive garden is perfect for a leisurely stroll with your dog. The 10 hectares and approximately 2,000 mature olive trees are a sight to behold. There is also a 360-degree observation deck, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy spectacular views of Seto Ohashi Bridge to the west, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the east, and Yashima Islands to the south. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Ushimado, which is called the Aegean Sea of Japan.
Kuroshima Venus Road
A romantic sandy path appears at low tide. Kuroshima Venus Road, which connects three islands (Kuroshima, Nakanokojima, and Hatanokojima) in a bow shape, is a power spot for lovers.
Setouchi City Museum of Art
An art museum with a sea view that opened in 2010 in the renovated former Ushimado Town Hall. We have a collection of works by artists connected to Setouchi City, including oil paintings by Nori Satake, known as the Olive Painter. In addition to a training room where lectures and workshops are held, there is also a gallery that can be used by citizens and artists..
Ushimado Shrine
It is one of the 128 ancient shrines in Bizen Province, and is listed as Jusanmi Ushimado Daimyojin in the Bizen Province Shinmyocho.
Bizen Osafune Sword Village
Located in Osafune Town, which has prospered as a production center for Japanese swords since the Kamakura period, this is a rare museum in Japan that exhibits swords, mainly Bizen swords. There is a sword forging workshop on the premises, where you can actually observe the various manufacturing processes related to Japanese swords, such as the traditional forging of Japanese swords, the production of sword armor, engraving on the blade, and sharpening. We also hold hands-on classes such as a tree making course where you can learn sword making techniques, a paper knife making course, and a sword care course. (Advance reservation required)
Yumeji Local Art Museum/Shonen Sanso
“Shonen Sanso” is a faithful reproduction of Yumeji Takehisa, who is not only a painter, but also an illustrator, graphic designer, and art director.He designed and built the atelier and residence in Tokyo in his later years, which can be said to be Yumeji’s only architectural work. This is a reproduction. You can enjoy creative Japanese sweets at the exhibition room/museum shop & cafe “Tsubaki Sabo”.
